The best golf swing analyzer apps in 2026
A year ago most swing apps were slow-motion players with a line tool. That has changed. Several apps now find the swing on their own, measure it, and tell you what to fix. The differences are in what gets measured, how the feedback arrives, whether your video has to leave your phone, and what you pay.
Disclosure: this guide is published by the maker of FormCaddie, which appears below. Competitor facts come from each app’s own store listing, website or help center, checked in October 2026. Prices change by country and over time, so treat them as a snapshot. An independent October 2026 comparison by DeepSwing informed several of the facts below and is linked where used.
If you want the app itself to tell you what is wrong and what to do next, on iPhone or Android, DeepSwing is the most complete package in 2026: hands-free capture, automatic analysis, spoken feedback and speed from video. If you are on iPhone and want one clear fault and one drill with your video staying on the phone, FormCaddie is the simpler pick. If you want a human coach, 3D body data, or a GPS app with swing analysis on the side, there are better fits below.
The picks at a glance
- Best overall: DeepSwing. Hands-free capture, automatic analysis, spoken feedback, speed from video. iPhone, Apple Watch and Android.
- Best simple iPhone pick: FormCaddie. One filmed swing becomes one ranked fault and one drill, on the device.
- Best for a human coach: V1 Golf. Send swings to your own coach or buy coaching inside the app.
- Best for 3D body data: Sportsbox 3D Golf. A 3D model of your body from one video, compared against elite ranges.
- Best for teaching pros: Onform. Coaching tools plus launch monitor data next to the video.
- Most named faults: GolfFix. More than 45 identified issues, each with a fix.
- Best voice feedback on iPhone: Swing Coach by Swing Intelligence. A spoken cue after every swing.
- Best instant replay: Swing Profile. Auto capture with a two-second replay on the range.
- Best GPS app with swing analysis on the side: 18Birdies. Yardages and scorecard first, swing rating second.
- Best coach-led plan: Mustard. Down-the-line video scored with a plan to follow.
How we judged them
What decides whether you still open an app after the third range session:
- Diagnosis. Does the app name the fault and pick the fix, or hand you a drawing tool and wish you luck?
- Capture. Can you set the phone down and hit balls, or do you walk back after every swing to press record and trim?
- Feedback while you practise. Do you hear something useful before the next ball, or do results arrive minutes later?
- Speed. Clubhead or ball speed, and does it need extra hardware?
- Platforms and privacy. Android support, watch support, and whether your swing video is uploaded for the analysis.
- Price for what you actually get.
The apps, one by one
FormCaddie: the simple iPhone pick
FormCaddie is the quiet one in this list. Film one swing down the line and it measures 12 checkpoints on the phone with Apple Vision and a club-tracking model, ranks the visible faults by impact, and returns one explanation and one drill from a library of 23. Live Range does the same hands-free while you hit balls, speaking the result back to you. Your video never leaves the phone.
Falls short: iPhone only, no Android. No clubhead or ball speed, no GPS or rounds, no human coach. Ten analyses are free every week; Pro adds unlimited analyses, unlimited Live Range and a training plan.
DeepSwing: best overall
DeepSwing is built around one loop: film, find the costliest fault, train it, check the next video. It runs more than 20 checks from clubhead path and body pose, scores the swing, and talks to you between balls. Capture is the best in this list: hands-free single-swing and multi-swing range modes, plus golf rounds where every real shot during a round is analysed. It measures clubhead and ball speed from face-on video with no extra hardware. The analysis runs on the phone.
Falls short: iPhone and Android only, no human coaching marketplace, not a GPS app. In the Eurozone, 59.99 EUR a year with a 7-day trial, or 9.99 EUR a month. Facts via DeepSwing’s October 2026 comparison.
V1 Golf: best for a human coach
V1 has been the teaching pro’s app since 2010. Its strength is people: send swings to your own coach, or buy coaching inside the app. The model swing library of PGA, LPGA and LIV players is the biggest in this list. The paid tier adds skeleton and trace overlays, on iOS only.
Falls short: the analysis is mostly yours to do. V1 gives you tools, not a ranked fault list. Sessions live in the cloud. Around 70 to 80 USD a year, 120 USD a year with the advanced overlays.
Sportsbox 3D Golf: best for 3D body data
Sportsbox builds a 3D model of your body from one phone video and reports numbers few consumer apps match: chest and pelvis turn, X-factor, sway, and a kinematic sequence compared against elite ranges. It reads clubhead speed from slow-motion video and connects to Foresight launch monitors.
Falls short: you need slow-motion video and a tripod, the free plan stops at 5 swings a month, and swings are uploaded to the cloud. 109.99 USD a year.
Onform: best for teaching pros and launch monitor owners
Onform is a coaching platform first. Coaches get messaging, voice-over and teams; players get auto-detect recording, up to four camera angles, and launch monitor data from Garmin or Full Swing devices next to each video. Its markerless 3D analysis comes with a published accuracy table.
Falls short: built for coaches and serious players, more than a casual range golfer needs. 99.99 EUR a year for the athlete plan.
GolfFix: most named faults
GolfFix identifies more than 45 swing issues, each with an explanation and a fix, and splits the swing into 8 steps with rotation values. It records several swings with a combined report and sells shot-fix lessons for slice, hook, fat, thin and the rest. A free tier still analyses swings, with ads.
Falls short: no speed measurement, nothing on the course, and videos can sync to its servers. 14.99 USD a month or 99.99 USD a year.
Swing Coach: best voice feedback alternative on iPhone
Swing Coach by Swing Intelligence tracks body and clubhead on the device and speaks one cue after each swing, through AirPods if you like. It points you to video lessons from known YouTube coaches for your main issue.
Falls short: iPhone only, with Android development paused. Numeric measurements go to the cloud for every swing. 14.99 USD a month or 119.99 USD a year.
Swing Profile: best instant replay
Swing Profile is the simplest idea here: auto capture on the range, a two-second delay, and your swing replays so you can look while the feel is fresh. Plane lines, sway and ball tracking overlays are included.
Falls short: diagnosis is up to you. It shows, it does not tell. Around 80 USD a year.
18Birdies: best GPS app with swing analysis on the side
18Birdies is a GPS and scorecard app first, with a swing rating feature on the side. Analysis happens on a server and arrives minutes later.
Falls short: as a swing analyser it is the shallowest in this list. Buy it for the yardages. 99.99 EUR a year for Premium.
Mustard: best coach-led plan
Mustard takes down-the-line video, scores the swing overall and on path, and puts you on a coach-led plan.
Falls short: down-the-line only, and the priciest in this list at 179.99 EUR a year.
Which one fits you
